Badger Ale has worked with BrandOpus to create the packaging strategy for the first of its ultimate collector’s ales series, the launch of the limited edition premium ale follows on from BrandOpus’ redesign of the Badger brand which rolled out in February of this year.

The ale, which is brewed using Boadicea, Bramling Cross and Goldings hops and matured in a Somerset Cider Brandy Company oak cask, comes in a 750cl champagne bottle housed within a wooden presentation box. The packaging design including the champagne bottle and oak presentation case embellished with the Badger brand identity aim to reflect the old crates that Badger Ale was once delivered in.

Anna Corbett, brand marketing manager at Badger Ale parent company, Hall & Woodhouse, said of the packaging: “A beautiful and considered design that delivers a rustic yet distinctive sense of occasion to be savoured, much like this very special beer.”

Hall & Woodhouse has released 235 of the Collector’s Edition 2012 bottles to celebrate the number of years it has been brewing. Each bottle comes with a leaf-like swing tag which is hand-numbered and signed by Chairman Mark Woodhouse.

The Collector’s Edition 2012 is the first in the series which will be released annually.
