Kate Harwood this week takes up her new position of head of drama for England, where she will hold responsibility for in-house drama series and serials made in London and Salford.

Having been announced on Friday, the appointment will see Hardwood work alongside the drama heads for Scotland and Wales, although pan-BBC drama production issues will be controlled by the UK Drama board.

Pat Younge, chief creative officer, said: “We decided to devolve more creative accountability to Faith and Chris [the Welsh and Scottish heads of drama] and expand Kate's portfolio. Each is an outstanding creative in their own right, and as a team they are unstoppable.”
