Paul Keers, a former UK editor of GQ magazine between 1988 and 1990, has been appointed as London bureau chief of White Light Media, the Edinburgh based publishers.

Keers, who has also served as editor of the Sunday Times Style magazine and co-author of the wine blog Sediment, will be tasked with building the firms London presence and to liaise with the firms English clients; including Tesco, the Met Office and Equiniti.

The role will also see Keers contribute to Hot Rum Cow, a newly launched drinks mag.

Fraser Allen, White Light Media’s managing director, said: “Hot Rum Cow is a big part of the attraction to Paul. It’s earning us lots of attention, particularly in London, where it’s stocked by Harrods and Selfridges, and numerous high-end design and magazine stores. It’s also been embraced by the Royal Academy of Arts, which has partnered up with us to boost the profile of the publication.

“Paul and myself will be spearheading our strategy of working closely with clients to craft intelligently written, beautifully designed magazines – print and online. His appointment is a major coup for us and we’re really excited about working with him when he starts in January.”
