The Times and The Sunday Times are to offer a new subscription service that will bundle a digital subscription with an electronic device.

Customers who subscribe to the Digital Pack for £4 per week for 18-months will be able to buy a Google Nexus 32GB tablet at a reduced cost of £50 (saving £149 from the RRP of £199). Alternatively customers can pay £299 up front for both the device and the 18-month Digital Pack.

Subscribers to the Digital Pack receive both The Times and The Sunday Times apps and websites plus membership to Times+, where they can enjoy a range of events, offers and extras including complimentary film screenings, private vies and expert talks.

Tom Whitwell, head of digital for The Times and The Sunday Times, commented: “The Nexus 7 is a fantastic device; small, lightweight and very powerful. Bundled with 18-months of journalism from The Times and Sunday Times, it’s an unbeatable offer.”

Marketing director for The Times and The Sunday Times, Suzi Watford, added: “This new offer will allow customers to enjoy our award-winning content on an award-winning device, whenever and wherever they want. We are committed to providing our customers with great offers and look forward to initiating more digital firsts in 2013.”

To coincide with the offer, readers will be able to access The Times and The Sunday Times together for the first time in the same tablet app on Android.
