eBay reports its biggest ever mobile Christmas in the UK as mobile sales jump by 110%

eBay has reported that more than three million Brits logged on to the site on Sunday 2 December, dubbed ‘Super Sunday’, via their mobile devices. The number of mobile visitors to the site on peaked at almost double the number on the same day last year (up by 96 per cent), with festive traffic peaking at around 8pm.

In addition there were over nine million unique UK visitors to the site throughout the day – an 18 per cent increase in visitors from the same day last year and driving a 15 per cent uplift in sales across the site as a whole.

Instant access to deals on smartphones and tablets saw 25 items per second being purchased on eBay in the UK. Home & Garden was the most popular search category, as shoppers stocked up on Christmas and party supplies, which ranked among the top selling items.
