Signing and branding consultants, Signlex has created the illuminated display for the new Park Theatre building in London's Finsbury Park.

Designed by Feast Creative, Signlex produced thirteen individual internally illuminated sections that make up the distinctive logo which is now a prominent feature on the two-tier theatre that is set to open next Spring.

The letters, built from aluminium with opal acrylic faces, are installed using special anchor fixings, designed specifically for securing equipment to the particular type of cladding on the building.

Simon Belton, managing director of Signlex, said: "On first sight this was a job I wanted to do because of its uniqueness and strong colour contrast to the building with its red rendered background. Internal white LED illumination ensures that the sign will perform efficiently to the highest standards making for a spectacular sign on a stunning contemporary building.”

“Park Theatre has a grand vision for national recognition. Its mission to be a welcoming, vibrant creative home for the local community and wider London area has been a wonderful branding project to work on alongside Camden based designers, Feast Creative. The walk from the Tube station, especially at night is a sight to behold. The building has major presence and the illuminated ‘PARK’ sign highlights the theatre as the centre of the area.”

The two-tier theatre will seat up to 200 people. It hosts an education floor for workshops, classes and rehearsals and a cafe bar.

Architect, David Hughes, who has been involved in the building, added: “The building was drastically remodelled from a 1960s office frontage to a contemporary theatre that challenges the traditions of the West End. I believe the finishing touches with the branding really lift the building into the land of theatre where it deserves to be.”
