Tennent’s Lager has unveiled its limited edition Scotland pint glass created with the warmth, wit and wisdom of the Scottish people, in time for St Andrews Day.

After over 3000 entries, a nationwide tour, and weeks of debate to select the 36 winning comments emblazoned on the glass, the ‘Scotland to a T’ glass contains a mix of funny and moving things that people love about their home country.

The aim of the campaign was to create a unique snapshot of the nation in words and pictures. The glass itself shows Scots pride in their national treasures including ‘The Big Yin’, the ‘Tartan Army’, and ‘T in the Park’.

The quirks of the Scottish national tongue are also celebrated on the glass with the inclusion of the phrases ‘two positives make one negative (aye right!)’. ‘where ‘how’ means ‘why’’ and ‘where ‘hunners’ means one, two or three’.

The further celebrate, Tennent’s has also created an animated film to bring some of the phrases to live and serve as a humorous and fitting ‘toast’ to St Andrews Day.

Commenting on the campaign, Tennent’s Lager marketing manager, Jane Cannon, commented: “Tennent’s is a big part of Scottish life and culture and our drinkers really captured that with their brilliant response to this campaign. It was no easy task to pick a shortlist of words and images from so many great entries, but it’s been a lot of fun and we’re really proud of the finished glass.

"Here’s hoping we’ll see it raised across the country to celebrate St Andrew’s Day.”

Full window displays of the quotes and images from the glass will be shown at selected pubs across Scotland and the glass will be available to purchase from tennents.com from Saturday 1 December priced £6.50.
