The PPA has revealed to its members that Hamish Miller will not be taking up the role of chairman at PPA Scotland, meaning that the current vote for vice-chairman between Neil Braidwood of CMYK Design and Alan Ramsay of Connect Communications has now become a vote for chairman and vice-chairman.

Miller announced that he was to step back from his role as publisher in 2013, leaving the position vacant.

CMYK Design's Braidwood has worked in the magazine industry since 1988, and founded CMYK Design 13 years ago. CMYK has produced a number of membership publications for the likes of the National Trust for Scotland and the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh.

Braidwood has been attending PPA Scotland meetings for some time, and has entered publications in all ten PPA Scotland awards. He was also part of the PPA Scotland sub-committee that lobbied the Scottish Parliament to improve procurement procedures in the magazine sector.

If elected Braidwood has said he will seek out and work tirelessly to be an ally to the creative entrepreneurs who are the future of the industry.

Ramsay has worked with Connect since 1999, taking on the role of MD in 2009. Amongst Connect's publications are The Journal of the Law Society of Scotland and Unfiltered, the Scotch Malt Whisky Society membership magazine.

In 2006 Ramsay and Connect joined the PPA as full national members to take advantage of all they have to offer member companies. Ramsay has said it is an exciting and challenging time for the industry and believes PPA Scotland can help continue to run a vibrant publishing industry in Scotland.

The PPA has advised votes already cast will be taken as a vote for chairman unless otherwise informed. Those who have not voted have been asked to reply as soon as possible marking their respective votes for chairman and vice chairman.
