Social media leaderboard, starcount.com, has revealed that viral sensation PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ is set to overtake longstanding frontrunner Justin Bieber as the most viewed YouTube video of all time.

The South Korean star shot to fame earlier this year with is infamous dance moves which inspired a chain of parodies from fans. At last check ‘Gangnam Style’ had clocked up 795 million views, and was quickly gaining on Justin Bieber’s ‘Baby’ which with 803 million views has sat atop the chart for two-and-a-half years.

According to the latest statistic’s PSY’s ‘Gangnam Style’ is currently averaging 11 million views per day, with Bieber’s ‘Baby’ averaging one million per day. Meaning PSY could overtake Bieber as early as this weekend.

‘Gangnam Style’ has already set the record for most “liked” video on YouTube, having overtaken that honour from LMFAO’s ‘Party Rock Anthem’ back in September. ‘Gangnam Style’ can also already lay claim to being the fastest growing video of all time, with starcount.com predicting that it could reach over 1 billion YouTube views by the end of the year if the momentum continues at the same pace.
