Cheshire-based Drupal specialist Ixis has announced the acquisition of fellow open source provider Leafish.

Leafish directors Paul Byrne and Dylan Sides will join the company as part of the terms of the takeover, helping Ixis further expand its market share in the provision of Drupal web development, hosting and consultation.

The move marks the end of a significant year for Ixis, which has been appointed to the government’s G-Cloud I and II procurement programmes and has also secured significant contracts with the British Council and charities VSO and International Alert.

Co-founder of Ixis, Chris Haslam, commented: “Having worked successfully with Leafish on a number of projects, it felt like the natural next step to formalise our relationship.

“This past year has been pivotal for the business and we have begun to unlock our potential, with several high profile client wins and some exciting developments within our team.”

Leafish director, Paul Byrne, added: “We are delighted to have this opportunity to work with Ixis and their clients. After a successful eight years developing and hosting websites at Leafish, we are keen to meet this new challenge and bring our business and experience to a new environment.”
