Red Letter Days has worked with Leeds-based creative agency McGrath O’Toole to develop a pre-Christmas digital marketing campaign.

The gift experience brand, owned by Dragons Den entrepreneurs Theo Paphitis and Peter Jones, tasked McGrath O’Toole with creating its All I Want For Christmas campaign microsite, designed to help people avoid unwanted gifts this year by inviting friends and family to make online donations to a Red Letter Day gift of their choice.

CEO and co-founder of McGrath O’Toole, Martin O’Toole, commented: “Last year, Britons received £2.4 billion worth of unwanted Christmas presents, with a staggering 366,000 people listing their gifts on eBay by Christmas Night.

“The beauty of the project is that it’s all completely geared around social commerce.

“By putting the consumer at the heart of marketing Red Letter Days to their family and friends, they become completely empowered mini-marketers. Naturally, the influence they have over their family and friends far outweighs that of Red Letter Days - hence it’s somewhat of a no-brainer.”

The entirely digital campaign includes the microsite, infographics, email and social media marketing, as well as online videos.
