The property and development arm of UK airport operator Manchester Airport Group (MAG), MAG Developments, has appointed John McHugh as marketing manager.

John McHugh joins MAG Developments from Bruntwood

Joining from property company Bruntwood, McHugh held the role as marketing manager working across the company’s Manchester, Leeds and Birmingham portfolios, managing and implementing marketing campaigns.

The newly created role at MAG Developments sees McHugh lead the branding and marketing strategy for MAG’s property business, as well as taking responsibility for enhancing the MAG Developments digital presence, developing marketing collateral and managing relationships with advertising and creative agencies.

McHugh’s remit at MAG Developments includes MAG’s existing £355 million property portfolio spanning Manchester, East Midlands and Bournemouth airports, along with the £650 million major Enterprise Zone development, Airport City Manchester, and other airport property development initiatives.

MAG property director, Stephanie Mullenger, commented: “John is a talented marketer with invaluable experience, so I am very pleased to welcome him to the team. Airports are no longer just places for travel, but destinations where businesses want to be based – so as we evolve our property proposition and take forward key projects such as Airport City, a strong brand identity and increasing our marketing effectiveness will be essential to attract customers and investors alike.”

Speaking of his new role, McHugh said: “MAG is an ambitious and well-respected company and I’m looking forward to developing its commercial property brands further, on a regional, national and international level.”
