55% of Brits think their smartphone will be helpful for finding product information for Christmas gifts

Over half of Brits (55 per cent) think that their smartphone will be helpful for finding product information for Christmas gifts, while 25 per cent think it will be helpful for buying gifts.

Mojiva found in its 2012 Holiday Mobile Audience Guide (MAG), which surveyed over 1000 people in both the UK and US, that 44 per cent of the UK respondents would consider purchasing electronics on their mobile device, compared to 60 per cent of the US respondents.

It was discovered that 48 per cent of UK respondents would use their smartphones for price comparisons (54 of females and 41 per cent of males); 47 per cent will use their phones to check on coupons (55 per cent of females and 39 per cent of males); while 25 per cent will use their device to buy products (26 per cent of females and 25 per cent of males).

They survey found that only 14 per cent of respondents in the UK said they would not feel comfortable buying any form of holiday present using their smartphone, while 24 per cent said they would be happy to spend less than £15 on a gift using their smartphone.

The research found that 42 per cent would be willing to spend £25 or more using their smartphone, while only 11 per cent would be happy to spend over £100.
