One of the world's oldest schools reveals new brand identity created by United By Design

St Peter’s School in York, one of the world’s oldest schools, has revealed its new updated image created by United By Design.

The Yorkshire-based agency was entrusted with the prestigious task after seeing off competition from a number of UK agencies. United By Design was tasked with evolving the school’s brand and communications reflecting its forward-thinking approach and ethos, whilst respecting and embracing its unique heritage.

The new branding is now set to be used across the school’s portfolio of communications, including stationary and literature as well as its website and mobile phone application. The branding also includes St Peter’s associated pre-prep school, Clifton, and junior school, St Olave’s.

Hannah Hamilton, marketing and communications director at St Peter’s School, commented: “We were impressed with the company’s approach and manner, and by their clear commitment to the wider community, as well as their impressive portfolio of work, demonstrating their understanding and empathy for some of York’s best known brands.”

United By Design’s owner and creative director, Owen Turner, said: “It has been an honour and a delight to work on this account! It was essential for the school’s branding to evolve into a more up-to-date image in order for it to meet its business objectives in the competitive marketplace of independent education.”

United By Design staff worked closely with the team at St Peter’s to create the new identity, Turner added: “This greatly informed the design process, allowing us to convey these values and unite the common vision of the three schools in the new branding. Our main aim was always to innovate but not alienate. We are now looking forward to an ongoing relationship with St Peter’s to develop their advertising design.”
