The London business of Golley Slater is keeping its name as it merges with creative agency Wand a year after poaching its chief executive.

Ian Winton, co-founder of Wand left after six years to join Golley Slater London as chief executive. He now looks set to reunite with Wand creative partners Brian Storey and Xanthos Christodoulou, who have run the business since his departure.

Wand clients including Ladbrokes, Peugeot, Childreach International and J.P. Morgan will move with the agency, which will be known as Golley Slater, while Wand's creative staff will also move over.

Christodoulou commented: “It’s great to be working again with Ian, reuniting the creative team which led to Wand’s success. It makes complete commercial sense too, as we love working together and the cultural fit means that clients will benefit immediately. Joining one of the best independent agencies in the country will be creatively stimulating and we will be playing a big role in growing the business over the next few years.”

Chris Lovell, group chief executive of Golley Slater, added: “This further enhances our agency offering through combining the award winning creative work of Wand with the rich history and client success of Golley Slater. The timing is right for both agencies as we’re both growing and there are some excellent client opportunities out there currently.”

At the time of writing it was not known if any redundancies had been made as part of the merger process.
