The RNIB Sightline Directory, an online directory to help people find services within the UK geared towards blind and partially sighted people, has been launched by Public Zone.

RNIB Sightline lists details of more than 1680 organisations known to the charity and sorts them into categories, with the aim of growing through user generated content.

Verity Pillinger-Cork, RNIB’s digital web and marketing manager, said: “The creation of Sightline Directory marks an exciting new phase for RNIB’s digital offering and strategy. Public Zone has proved that it is possible to create an exciting, useful, user-centred website that is also highly accessible. Their UX credentials are very impressive and we look forward to seeing the directory grow over the coming months.”

Public Zone had been briefed to create a new online resource to offer support and advice to the almost two million people in the UK living with sight loss.

Julie Dodd, UX design director at Zone, added: “RNIB offers fantastic resources offline, but our research showed a number of key areas where their digital experience was holding them back, particularly in providing and facilitating discovery of local support services. Our custom-built .NET platform is a tool that will continue to deliver value and help people at a grass-roots level.”
