Mobile phone and broadband provider O2 has hired Paul Fabretti, former digital director of Brazen as its new head of social media.

Fabretti, who left Manchester PR agency Brazen in August, took up his new role at O2 yesterday, The Drum understands.

He will be tasked with looking after the strategy and governance of the company’s social media activity and report to head of communications and reputation, Nicola Green.

“Paul will look at how we can take our social media to the next level by driving further and deeper integration across the business,” Green told The Drum.

Fabretti will take over the role from Alex Pearmain, who will depart at the end of this month.
