Facebook’s ‘chairs are like Facebook’ ad now has three follow-up print ads, created by Wieden & Kennedy, suggesting that swimming pools, Halloween and cakes are all like the social media site.

The ads suggest that pools and the social media site are similar because: “Swimming pools are filled with people. Some you know. Some you don’t. And every once in a while you see something that maybe you shouldn’t. That’s why swimming pools are a little like Facebook.”

Halloween was deemed to be like Facebook because it “gives people a chance to be scary or funny or sexy or, sometimes, a little bit of all three. Halloween lets people express themselves. That is why Halloween is like Facebook."

These ads are leading to some mocking by some consumers, with a Tumbler page having been set up with fake ads such as ‘Disney Stormtroopers are like Facebook’ and ‘square-shaped watermelons are like Facebook’.
