Sky, Lloyds TSB and Vodafone have all confirmed that they will be advertising on the new Windows 8 Ads-in-Apps platform.

Microsoft Advertising has revealed that more than 25 brands and a host of publishers, including BBC Worldwide, have signed up to build advertising experiences within apps running on Windows 8. Windows 8 Ads-in-Apps campaigns have the potential to be smarter, richer, more relevant and more valuable to consumers and marketers.

Speaking via his online blog, Frank Holland, Microsoft’s corporate vice president, advertising and online, said: “This is just the beginning…We are looking forward to working with more agencies, brands and publishers to create innovative Ads-in-Apps experiences that consumers love across Windows 8.”

Eithne Anderson, head of marketing communications for Lloyds TSB, commented: “We are proud to be one of the first UK partners, and the only UK bank so far, to take advantage of such an exciting and innovative platform, and we look forward to working with Microsoft and Windows 8.”

Andy Hart, general manager of advertising and online at Microsoft Advertising UK, added: “Windows 8 Ads in Apps is an example of Microsoft’s commitment to creating a canvas for advertisers to deliver consistent brand experiences that flow freely across our ecosystem of connected devices and services.

“For our advertising partners and clients, the time has never been better to work with us to co-create consumer-centric campaigns that have greater reach and are more engaging and therefore more effective than before. We are thrilled to announce today the major brands that have already grabbed this compelling opportunity and signed up as advertising and publishing partners, and look forward to working with them and other partners in the exciting future ahead.”
