McCann Bristol has announced an expansion of its operations after Universal McCann, the media buying agency, set up shop in its West Country offices.

Media director Sun Hendry will be heading up a team of four coming in to work at Universal McCann which has already signed up a number of clients, including Pink Lady Apple, Tender Stem Broccoli, Wadworth, Western Cider, Brut and The Mall.

Andy Reid, MD at Bristol McCann, said: “Having UM in Bristol is a real coup. It has come about due to demand from clients, in response to growth, and reflects our ambition. It is especially encouraging at a time when other agencies in the region are scaling back operations.”

Sue Hendry, director of media at UM in Bristol, commented: “We are really excited about being in the South West. We have the resources you would expect from a global agency but can provide clients the service levels of a boutique agency.”

UM’s expansion adds to its existing estate in London, Birmingham and Manchester and gives McCann’s south west office a fully integrated marketing offer.
