The BBC has revealed the trailer for the London 2012 Olympic Games DVD/Blu-ray Collection as part of its campaign in the run up to Christmas.

The collection has featured opening ceremony director Danny Boyle’s cut of the events as well as on audio commentary from Boyle and writer Frank Cottrell Boyce.

The BBC is currently running a 20 second teaser spot, with the full 60-second clip due to be aired during Coronation Street on Monday 29 October, the day the collection is released, as part of a TV roadblock at 8.45pm. Shorter 30-second ads will also run across as commercial channels.

The flagship ad will then be replaced by print activity, with TV activity returning in December in the form of short 10-second spots.

The television campaign was created by Karmarama.

Media planning and buying is being handled by Zenith Optimedia and the DVD was published by BBC Worldwide.

When it was announced the BBC would publish a DVD, Paul Dempsey, managing director of BBC Worldwide Consumer Products, said: “We are thrilled to be publishing the DVD of the London 2012 Olympic Games which have enthralled the nation.

"As the official Olympic Broadcaster, the BBC has achieved record viewing figures for their coverage and we are delighted to be able to offer this DVD which captures sporting history in the making.”
