Story has appointed Guy Vickerstaff from The Leith Agency as its new creative director.

Vickerstaff has been with The Leith, where he was head of art, for almost seven years and before that worked for agencies including Family, The Union and Euro RSCG Sydney.

He will move across Edinburgh to join Story on 6 November, working alongside the agency's executive creative director Dave Mullen.

“I only ever heard good things about Story and that intrigued me," Vickerstaff said. "They have a great team who have been quietly doing some of the best work to come out of Scotland for years.

"I've admired Dave for a long time, I like his style of management and I liked what he had to say about the business. And importantly, what I wanted for the next step in my career fit neatly into Dave’s plans for Story."

At The Leith, Vickerstaff worked on a number of high-profile campaigns including Elaine C Smith's breast cancer detection ads for the Scottish Government, VisitScotland's 'Surprise Yourself' and First Great Western's 'I'm a Great Westerner'.

“Guy is one of the most respected and decorated creatives in the business and brings not only experience and expertise to Story, but stature," Mullen said.
