Online retailer Amazon has been linked with a potential bid to buy clothing retail website ASOS.com.
The Sunday Telegraph has reported that Amazon did look at the books of its potential target, but it was unable to say whether the interest had been maintained, after the founders of both companies met in the US.
The interest from Amazon was reportedly due to its interest into extending into the fashion sector.
The former chief executive of Amazon UK Brian McBride became chairman of ASOS earlier this month.
