As racism hits the football headlines again today, the Kick it Out campaign, which aims to promote equality and including within football, has appointed Blue Rubicon to head up its latest campaign.

The ongoing anti-racism campaign has brought in the agency ahead of a nationwide consultation of fans to highlight the progress being made within the game, with the findings set to form the blueprint for future activity.

The consultation will begin during the annual One Game, One Community period of action, beginning tomorrow until 29 October, and will involve the views of fans across the country, alongside major pressure groups, while the campaign itself will target fans and stakeholders, with a focus on social media.

Roisin Wood, director of Kick It Out, explained: “Kick It Out's campaigning and education work underpins all the organisation's output, from grass roots to elite level.

“Blue Rubicon can assist in this area as they have a proven track record as effective campaigners on high profile campaigns that challenge perception and make a real difference,” she added.

The news follows claims of racism against the England Under 21 team who beat their Serbian counterparts last night, which ended with a mass brawl being reported. It is understood that the English FA has complained to EUFA over the incidents that took place.
