VisitSuffolk’s latest campaign to promote the region by describing it as the ‘curious county’ has come under fire from local MPs.

The campaign, which launched last month, was supported by hashtags such as #proudtobecurious and #curiouscounty.

Chris Waters of Condiment, the agency which created the initiative, defended the idea by suggesting that it shows that there are more than just the traditional attractions to fill time with in Suffolk.

However, David Ruffley, MP for Bury St Edmunds, said: "There is nothing curious about what we have to offer. This slogan is idiotic and meaningless, if not potentially dangerous for the tourism industry.”

This is revealed on the same day that it was revealed that Edinburgh is rethinking using the slogan ‘Incredinburgh’ on its latest campaign.
