Toshiba UK is calling upon the public to come up with Windows 8 Application concepts in its latest campaign, The App Studio.

Hosted on the Toshiba UK Facebook page, the winning idea submitted will be made by a professional development team and made available to download from the Windows Store.

The dedicated Facebook page tab is open until Friday 2 November, when all submissions will then be judged by an expert panel consisting of professional app developers, Toshiba and Microsoft. Judges will be looking for creative app ideas, based on a unique and original concept, market potential and functionality will also be considered.

The ten best ideas selected by the panel will also win a Toshiba Satellite P845t laptop.

Senior marketing manager at Toshiba UK, Tarek Boudour, commented: “Apps have become ubiquitous with all kinds of technology, and can help people in so many different ways – they cover everything from pure entertainment to more convenient ways of organising your day.

“The idea behind the campaign is that anyone can come up with amazing ideas for an app. It’s not important to have the technical know-how, but judges will be looking for exciting, original and easy to understand ideas.”
