North West Fund for Digital & Creative announces investment into Carbon Digital

The North West Fund for Digital and Creative, managed by AXM Venture Capital Limited, has invested in Warrington-based visual effects (VFX) company, Carbon Digital.

Carbon’s current clients include DKLW Lowe, BBH, and corporate clients such as Unilever. The investment has allowed for Carbon to expand and move into new premises at Media City, ‘The Landing’.

Speaking of the move co-founder, Sue McHugh said: “The move to Media City has been a solid goal in our business plan for some time now and we are delighted to be making the move now. The facilities on offer there, gives our business the scope to widen our offering to provide a full range of editing services on our doorstep.”

Paul McHugh, managing director of Carbon Digital, added: “We are delighted to have secured this funding from the North West Digital and Creative Fund and the Carbon team are very excited about the future direction and opportunities ahead.

“The investment will enable us to accelerate our delivery, starting with a number of interesting bigger projects, secured through our ability in high-end visual effects.”

The investment from The North West Fund for Digital & Creative, which is part of the £185m North West Fund financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) and the European Investment Bank (EIB), will support the company’s growth plans.
