BAE Systems has incorporated augmented reality technology into its latest recruitment campaign in a bid to attract engineering talent.

Using the tagline ‘Great ideas in the hands of great engineers’, the campaign will feature in trade magazine Professional Engineering and will be supported by video-banners on a variety of relevant websites, including Jobsite and TopEngineeringJobs.co.uk.

Target readers will also receive a credit-card sized Videopak, which will play the campaign film when opened. Those who do not receive the Videopak will still get to see the campaign film as the print advertisements will come to life when viewed on smartphones using the Ausrasma Lite app.

The film was developed by global resourcing specialists Alexander Mann Solutions on behalf of BAE Systems, since its initial launch in June the video has had more than 19,000 views.

Human resources director at BAE Systems Maritime - Submarines, Rowland Cooper, commented: “We hope that this new campaign, which uses the very latest technology to showcase how diverse the engineering roles within BAE Systems are, will help us to reach the type of applicants we are looking for, especially on the Successor programme, and make them excited about the prospect of a role within our organisation.”
