Household cleaning brand Spontex, part of the Jarden Corporation, has announced £1 million worth of marketing and promotion investment for 2012/13.

Earlier this year, during the brands sponsorship of Sky 1 comedy ‘Trollied’, Spontex reintroduced the cute and cuddly hedgehog as brand ambassador after several years out of the spotlight. The brand has also unveiled a clean new look as well as updated logo. On top of prime time TV sponsorship Spontex has invested in its social media channels on Facebook, YouTube and Twitter.

Its pre-planned 2013 campaign aims to target busy working mothers by making light work of many household chores, accompanied by the slogan ‘Clever Cleaning’. Several new products have been added to the Spontex range in the last year including new additions to the scouring lines, an extension of the gloves portfolio, and innovations in the mop and floor cleaning offering.

UK head of marketing for Spontex, Joanne Evans, commented: “The campaign for 2013 has been designed to promote the extensive product range we have which covers cloths, scourers, gloves and floor cleaning lines – we will be promoting the benefits of our products and how they work through our Clever Cleaning mantra while maintaining our sense of humour when it comes to cleaning with the help of our Spontex hedgehog!”
