Prime Minister David Cameron set for new Twitter account
Prime Minister David Cameron is set for a new Twitter account the Conservative Party has revealed today.
Cameron, who Twitter presence is served through his office on the @Number10gov account, will have a new account before the beginning of the next Conservative Party annual conference being held in Birmingham on 10 October, The Drum understands.
A Conservative Party spokesman said: “We will be launching David Cameron’s political twitter account at our Party Conference in Birmingham this year. We have found twitter to be a valuable tool in reaching out to people directly and will provide more details on the account in due course.”
At the time of writing, there was no word on what Cameron’s twitter handle would be as the account @davidcameron is currently in use by an American.
It is also understood that his account handle will not be @DavidCameronLeader, as claimed in a Conservative Party Blog.
