Honda has announced the appointment of Cake to handle its social media in the UK on a retained basis.
The agency will be expected to develop and implement an ongoing social media strategy, as well as working on creative and engaging content to build relationships with current and future customers.
Cake was appointed following a ‘shoot out’ between four agencies, with the account to be led by managing partner Jim Dowling.
Dowling says: “Working with a manufacturer as well-known as Honda is a dream brief for our social media team here at Cake. Having a wide range of high quality and innovative products at our disposal, backed up by a forward-thinking brand philosophy will allow us to produce great creative work in social media.”
Tara Berry, Honda’s social media and PR communications executive, said: “We were impressed with the flair, creativity and knowledge demonstrated by the team at Cake as well astheir personality that really shone through. We were looking for an agency that would compliment and facilitate our vision for the future and importantly are ready to get their heads down and hands dirty. Cake has come on board just in time as we see product launches across the business, as well as an ambition to take the Honda brand forward.”
