Faults with the umbrella website hosted by the Football League are affecting a number of professional football clubs.

The Daily Mail has reported that the site, which hosts the websites of 86 football clubs, managed by Football League Interactive, including Queens Park Rangers, Wigan and Stoke, has provoked criticism from fans facing technical problems.

Having been developed in partnership with SapientNitro following a tender process, three templates were created for clubs to adapt their online needs.

A Football League spokesman said: “This has been an enormous technical exercise that has seen FL Interactive launch more than 80 brand new websites in just a matter of weeks. Like other digital projects on this scale, there have been some initial technical issues but club websites are now fully operational and will give supporters the best club website they have ever had.”

The spokesman has also informed The Drum that the issues affecting the site have already be rectified.
