Republic Fashion’s latest email campaign has become an inadvertent internet hit after a fat fingered typist devised an intriguing alternative to the verb ‘bedazzle’.

Supplanting the first few critical characters for an altogether more risqué alternative the retailer plumped for ‘vajazzle’ instead – to the consternation of their female customers.

The fashion retailer wrote: “Can’t get your hands on the iPhone 5? (sniff sniff) Vajazzle your phone!’

Bedazzle of course is to be blinded by lights, presumably what the retailer was getting at via the array of sparkly wares pictured below.

‘Vajazzle’ on the other hand, according to the Urban Dictionary, is ‘to give the female genitals a sparkly makeover with crystals so as to enhance their appearance’.

Twitter users were quick to ruminate as to whether Republic Fashion were diversifying into a new range of accoutrements or had committed a linguistic faux pas after Katharine Mansell (@so_khm) tweeted the blunder.
