Virgin Media has revealed it is considering launching 4G across its services before the end of the year using EverywhereElse’s LTE (long term evolution) approved 1800MHz spectrum.
Virgin Media already shares the EE Network with Orange and T-Mobile, but is now in talks to cut a sharing deal which could see 4G roll out across its wireless services. The news comes despite reports that 4G LTE may be delayed in the UK.
Speaking to The Inquirer a spokesperson commented: “People are increasingly using smartphones, tablets and other connected devices to get online and 4G will play an important part in meeting the growing demand for wireless capacity.
“Launching 4G services this year promises to bring significant benefits to UK consumers as people begin to make the most of forthcoming superfast mobile connections.”
