Soho House London, the member’s only club for those in the film, media and creative industries, is believed to be in discussions with upmarket restaurant Kettner’s over the acquisition of its building.

The Telegraph has reported that Soho House, co-owned by Nick Jones, Richard Caring and US investor Ron Burkle, would use Kettner’s, which is owned by Gondola Holdings, to expand its original club on Greek Street.

The main entrance for the restaurant, which has been a favourite of celebrities including Oscar Wilde and Bing Crosby, is on Romily Street and it occupies three floors of the building next to Soho House.

Soho House plans to expand into Kettner’s to create bedrooms and a swimming pool, in an effort to mirror the size of its New York and Berlin clubs.

A Soho House spokesman confirmed it was looking at Kettner’s but stressed that it was involved in “very early stage exploratory conversations”.

A Gondola spokesman said it had yet to receive an approach from Soho House.
