Brand experience agency Ignite is to launch its first US office in Miami, following five years of sustained growth in the UK and Europe.

Ignite chairman Harvey Goldsmith CBE said: “Ignite has great heritage working with US-based brands and rights holders, so stateside was the obvious choice for us when it came to expanding the Ignite brand beyond Europe.

“Miami is also the hub for a large number of marketing initiatives into South America so the new office will be ideally located to pursue new business opportunities in Brazil, including the 2014 World Cup and 2016 Olympic Games.”

The Miami office will open in October 2012 and be led by Fred Porro in his new role as group managing director. Porro was responsible for establishing Ignite in the UK back in 2002 after moving from the USA where he was a director at Momentum Worldwide.

Porro’s international remit sees Cris Cicirello and Paul Saville step up to the roles of Joint Managing Directors with responsibility for the day-to-day running of the London office.

In the last ten years Ignite has been responsible for producing more than 10,000 events, activations and campaigns in over 50 countries, and counts Vodafone, Barclays, NFL, NBA, ATP, Premier League, EDF Energy, Tesco and Sky among its clients.
