Bacon Jam, a new condiment concocted by independent bistro Eat17 in Walthamstow, has secured shelf space at Tesco following the launch of new branding.

Together Design worked with Eat17 to develop new packaging, point of sale materials and a refreshed web design.

Katja Thielen, creative director at Together Design, said: “Bacon Jam is an unusual product and that sense of creativity was the starting point for the branding. Relishes don’t usually contain meat, so we needed to convey that strongly on pack. The other task was to develop a quirky tone of voice to bring out its artisan character.”

Bacon Jam began life as Eat17’s house burger relish but proved such a hit with customers that the bistro was repeated asked to sell the jam in take-home jars. Ingredients include smoked bacon, coffee, lemon juice, bourbon, fresh garlic and rosemary.
