Web hosting company GoDaddy has said that most of its websites are now back online after the company’s server was hacked.

The US company, which hosts millions of domains, saw its sites go down on Monday for a matter of hours, but has now tweeted that it has managed to restore the majority of its websites.

“Most customer hosted sites back online. We're working out the last few kinks for our site & control centers. No customer data compromised,” was the last tweet sent by the company.

The company has also apologised to its customers following the outage.
