To support its work worldwide charity, Oxfam has launched a new website and online shop, with improved content and functionality designed to motivate and inspire its visitors.

Sarah Jordan, Head of Digital Communications at Oxfam, explained: “The launch of the website and online shop is an important milestone in Oxfam's continuing journey to maximise the benefits that new digital technologies can bring to supporter engagement and charitable giving.

“We want the site to be a catalyst for change, where everyone is empowered, invited to make contributions, large or small and collectively build a wave that will help end global poverty.”

Delivered by Manchester-based digital agency, Code Computerlove, alongside Oxfam’s digital communications team the new website features a switch to Oxfam’s new global brand identity. Built on the industry-leading Sitecore management system (CMS) the new site will allow the charity to offer a richer and better-integrated user experience.

Director and co-founder of Code Computerlove, Louis Georgiou, added: “Working in close partnership with Oxfam's digital, marketing and communications teams, this is the largest platform build we’ve ever done. It’s been amazing and something we’re very proud of.”

Oxfam’s online shop has also undergone a makeover in order to deliver the standard of buying experience that customers expect of a leading high street retailer. A new search and browse function has been added to make it easier for visitors to browse the charity’s extensive range of saleable items.

The Oxfam Online Shop’s Chris Davies, commented: “This new and improved site will not only make it easier for people to navigate and find what they are looking for but also hopes to encourage new visitors to explore the huge range of items we have on offer from the comfort of their own homes.”

Oxfam’s new Policy and Practice website was designed and built by Code Computerlove as well and offers a new resource for the humanitarian and development community. The new site will increase the number of individuals and organisations that have access to Oxfam’s information.

An events and community platform is soon to be added to the site offering space for supporters to share experiences, contribute content of their own and interact with like-minded users. The intention of the site is to constantly evolve with new tools and features rolled out regularly over the coming years and months.
