Laithwaites Wine has launched its first mobile app, developed by creative agency Karmarama. The app has come as part of the company’s strategy to enhance customer experience through consumer engagement.

Laithwaites wanted an app that would have the same level of product information and functionality as its website running on a PC web interface. With this brief, Karmarama developed the app to provide a quicker, smoother and easier user experience, and the addition of label image recognition means customers can quickly find, and buy Laithwaites Wine bottles. A ‘Favourites’ function has also been included to enable customers to make a note of wines they have enjoyed.

John Buffey, digital marketing manager, Laithwaites commented: “We are extremely excited to add the Laithwaite’s Wine mobile app to the overall improvements we are making to the customer experience of ordering wine. While we have seen some impressive educational apps, this is an app that will offer customers both the educational element and a quick option for ordering the wines they love.”

Chris Michael, technology director, Karmarama added: “Developing a mobile app was a clear next step in providing a genuinely accessible wine-loving experience for Laithwaite’s Wine customers. We see it as a simple way for Laithwaites Wine to facilitate sales, engage and educate, and ultimately drive advocacy and repeat purchase.”
