Dorset creative agency BrightBlueDay is opening an office in Scotland after acquiring Glasgow-based Eric Witham Design and Marketing.

Eric Witham's base in Glasgow's Merchant City will become BrightBlueDay's Scotland office from 1 September. In a statement BrightBlueDay said there was a "strategic need" to add a regional presence to its headquarters on the south coast of England, where it has been based for 50 years.

One of the new office's first clients will be London Fashion Week, which has tasked the agency with "leveraging international sponsorship and branding opportunities to the Scottish whisky sector".

Jonathan Clark, executive chairman of BrightBlueDay, said: “We have been working with ScottishPower in Glasgow for several years and during this time have built up a strong connection with the area. Recently we have been introduced to some strong opportunities and the time is right for us to develop them.”

The new Glasgow office will be headed up by Eric Witham and his team.
