Ocado appoints BD Network as creative agency for through-the-line campaign

Following a multi-agency pitch, online grocer Ocado has selected BD Network for the development of the creative work that will be used across VOD, outdoor, press, digital and direct marketing.

Working alongside brand communications agency, Starcom MediaVest, BD Network aims to deliver a campaign that will recruit new customers by creating brand awareness of Ocado’s products and its service.

Speaking about the appointment, Jason Gissing, co-founder of Ocado, commented: “We were really impressed with BD Network’s strategic grasp of our challenge and are confident they will produce a campaign that shares our own unique vision - to offer a better way for people to shop for their groceries that goes beyond what the traditional supermarkets offer.”

Ocado wanted to clearly articulate how it differs from established supermarkets. With this in mind, BD Network kicked off the campaign with a competition for budding creatives to produce a short film on the theme of "my worst supermarket shopping experience" to highlight the benefits of shopping at Ocado versus the traditional supermarket.
