Associated Press have today (23 August) launched a shopping supplement in its Daily Mail print paper, which has enabled users of the bespoke Mail Shop Instant Mobile Checkout app to purchase straight from the supplement.
After downloading the app, powered by Simply Tap, smartphone users register their payment and shipping details. They can then identify and buy featured products by tapping in the unique product code, this is then processed and delivery of the item follows shortly after.
Today’s supplement was a seasonal end of summer special, focussing on garden furniture, flowers and bedding. As Daily Mail moves into the Christmas period the supplements will be approximately every two weeks and, as it continues to develop, readers will be able to buy single product offers which will appear in the newspaper every day.
This is the first phase of the strategic deal Associated Press made with the Mobile Money Network (MMN) to integrate its instant mobile checkout technology.
