Nike and O2 have announced the launch of digital club Priority Sports, providing exclusive products, services and experiences for O2 customers using Android.

Available through a mobile app, Priority Sports aims to drive people to be more active, and will provide access to the Nike+ running app for Android; access to Nike events, and athlete experiences, including the likes of Paula Radcliffe, Premier League stars and training with Saracens rugby; dedicated 25% off all pitch hire at Lucozade; and 1,000 limited edition Ice Nike Fuelbands, only available online through Priority Sports.

Gino Fisanotti, Nike UK & Ireland marketing director, said: “Nike understands today’s digitally connected athlete better than anyone else and the insights we gain from athletes inspire us to constantly innovate. Our latest digital innovations, in combination with Priority Sports, will allow Nike to inspire and enable O2 customers to be more active by delivering them the best sports products, services and experiences.”

Research from O2 found that 53.15 per cent of people who are active use an app to help, while 79 per cent say apps help with their motivation.

Sally Cowdry, consumer & marketing director of O2 in the UK, added: “Your mobile is the centre of your life – and we’ve seen from our network, our O2 Gurus, and our customers, that the UK is keener than ever to sample, share in and socialize around their sporting passions. Priority Sports provides the new, easy and engaging way to prepare, participate and share sport with friends, via a digital sports club with friends.”
