MiNetwork has signed up marketing chiefs from two of the UK’s best known brands to sit on the judging panel for this year’s MiAwards, the deadline for which is just three weeks away.

Joining the judging panel is Annerie Hughes, head of marketing for Virgin Trains, and also signing up is Shirley Marguerite, European Marketing Manager at Rosetta Stone.

Hughes and Marguerite will judge the Marketing Strategy categories, which include categories such as Best Mobile Marketing Strategy, Best Social Media Strategy and Best Consumer Insight among others. For a full list of categories click here.

Richard Draycott, managing director of MiNetwork, said: “I’m sure the competition for MiAwards will be as furious this year as it was last, but to have brands such as Virgin Trains and Rosetta Stone on board already is great news. We will be unveiling even more judges in the coming weeks and this represents a great opportunity for agencies to get their work in front of some big clients with big budgets to spend.”

MiAwards is now in its fourth year and last year saw more than 300 members of the UK’s marketing services agency community gather for the gala awards dinner in Manchester.

The top award of the night, the Grand Prix, was collected by Birmingham and Paris-based agency Freestyle Interactive, which also scooped awards for Best Mobile Marketing Strategy, Digitals Agency of the Year and Midlands Marketing Business of the Year.

Other big agency winners last year included TBWA\Manchester as Ad Agency of the Year, Uniform as Design Consultancy of the Year and Franklyn Rae at PR Consultancy of the Year.

Marketing professionals to be honoured in 2011 included Managing Director of the Year Rob Morrice of IAS B2B, Marketing Personality of the Year Karen Lewis of MadeByPi with the Lifetime Achioevement Award going to Bernie May and Chris Goodwin of Principles.

The deadline for entry this year is Friday 7th September, with judging due to take place in Manchester on 3rd October.
