Apple could take over for Orange as Prize for Fiction sponsor
It was joked about earlier this year, but talks are underway which could see what was known as the Orange Prize for Fiction becoming the Apple Prize for Fiction, as it is revealed the technology giant has had talks with organisers.
Orange pulled its sponsorship in May, as the mobile phone operator decided to focus on the film route with its deal, leading to jokes that Apple or Blackberry should become the replacement.
According to The Sunday Telegraph, talks have also been held with ebook producer Kobo, but discussions with Apple are at a more advanced stage.
It is unknown if the award would be named after the company itself, or one of its products, such as the iBookstore.
