Adam Yauch, the late member of the Beastie Boys who died in May following a battle with cancer, has used his will to prevent brands using his image or music in adverts.

The will, which was filed in New York this year, has stated that, as his executor, his widow Dechen Yauch, has the right to sell and manage his artistic property.

"Notwithstanding anything to the contrary, in no event may my image or name or any music or any artistic property created by me be used for advertising purposes,” the will has stated.

He has also left his estate, worth $6.4m to his wife and 13-year-old daughter.
