Renowned artists such as Geoff McFetridge, Jon Burgerman, Marcus Oakley, Darren Whittington, Jenny Bowers and Frootful have all featured designs on ShelterBox's Christmas cards. Each year ShelterBox invites artists and illustrators to submit designs to compete for the chance to be included in their Christmas card packs. Now in its third year, the competition is inviting creative writers as well as artists and designers to get involved in creating the cards to be sold on behalf of the international disaster relief charity.

Writing agency Stranger Collective came up with the idea to involve creative writers helping artists and designers produce cards themed around ShelterBox’s core values of shelter, warmth and dignity. Writers and designers who want to take part but don’t have a collaborator to work with can contact Stranger Collective, who will pair them up with a creative partner.

All proceeds from the sale of the cards raise important funds of ShelterBox’s work around the world. ShelterBox and Stranger Collective are now welcoming either typographic or pictorial designs, or a combination of both. From the submissions two designs will be selected to go into the final pack (twelve cards with six designs) alongside designs produced by leading writers, designers and illustrators.

This year, the cards could also be sold in ShelterBox’s affiliate countries around the world, making this an opportunity for the chosen winners to have their work seen around the world.
