Online premium advertising exchange, Hi-Media, has announced it is expanding operations in the UK; as a result of this growth the company has appointed Dan Ginns as commercial director.

Ginns joins Hi-Media from Adconion, and brings with him 17 years of media experience, he will report directly to Hi-Media UK’s managing director, Mathieu Roche. In his new role he will be responsible for all commercial aspects of the business from agency sales and working with trading desks, to managing growing publisher relationships, advertising operations and product strategy.

Prior to his role at Adconion Ginns spent four years at Microsoft Advertising, three years at River Digital Media, which was acquired by TeamTalk Media in 2003, and was sales manager at EMAP advertising before that.

Along with the appointment of Ginns, Hi-Media has also promoted Kate LeMesurier to head of sales, and appointed three other new staff members including Nick Brown as head of operations. As head of sales LeMesurier will report directly to Ginns and will oversee all agency and advertiser relations and manage the sales team.

Speaking of Ginns appointment, Mathieu Roche, managing director, Hi-Media UK, commented: “Dan Ginns is a seasoned commercial director. He brings us the technical experience of working for an advertising network, with branding and rich media capabilities, combined with an understanding of the publisher point of view from his time at Microsoft Advertising, Rivals Media and EMAP and, on top of all that, he began his career at an agency.

“This makes him well-placed to understand all aspects of the business and direct our commercial operations to ensure we continue to deliver for publishers and agencies alike.”
