Caledonian Mercury editor appointed as digital head of Yes Scotland campaign
Stewart Kirkpatrick, editor of the Caledonian Mercury, has been announced as the digital head of the Yes Scotland campaign.
Kirkpatrick will step down from his role at the news website with immediate effect as begins work on the campaign which aims to lead to a ‘yes’ vote at the referendum on the independence of Scotland.
Blair Jenkins, chief executive of Yes Scotland, said in a release: “I am delighted that somebody of Stewart Kirkpatrick’s calibre is joining our team. In 21st century campaigning, digital content, development and management are fundamental to success and Stewart is undoubtedly a proven leader in this field of expertise.”
